Lompoc is located on scenic Pacific Coast Highway (Hwy 1) and Highway 246, next to Vandenberg Space Force Base and surrounded by rolling hills to the north, south and east. It lies 55 miles northwest of Santa Barbara, 155 miles northwest of Los Angeles and 270 miles southeast of San Francisco.
The Lompoc Valley offers affordable Central Coast living, with temperate weather, numerous outdoor activities and a close-knit, small-town atmosphere.

Launching grounds
Next door is Vandenberg Space Force Base, one of the nation’s premier space launch facilities and the city’s largest employer, providing 6,700 jobs.

Affordable power through the Northern California Power Agency joins police, fire, planning, library, parks and recreation and other city-funded services.

Wine country
Nearly 40 wineries and the famed Lompoc Wine Ghetto dot Lompoc and the surrounding Santa Rita Hills, offering some of the best pinot noir, syrah and chardonnay in the state.
