As we continue to power ahead into 2023, we’re taking a moment to reflect on another pivotal year for the Central Coast + REACH.
With the support and collaboration of many across the region, we have been able to achieve groundbreaking growth and goal-setting in 2022. To close out the year, here’s a quick recap of the past few months:
Collaborated widely as the region navigated two major milestones for clean energy, energy resilience and economic impact
- The pending extension of Diablo Canyon — plus $160 million for local economic development and conservation
- And the West Coast’s first offshore wind leases — plus a report on how the region can capture the jobs and economic benefits
Secured a $5 million state grant to build on our six-county Uplift Coalition with MBEP and EDC to advance economic equity, inclusion, and sustainability
Gained altitude in growing the Central Coast space ecosystem, with infrastructure planning, the state’s new Space Industry Task Force and a record number of commercial launches 🚀
Kicked off new collaborations to address the availability of housing affordable to our workforce (more on this in the new year!)
Published our second Annual Report, where you can dive deeper into all our regional initiatives and milestones
