The Uplift Coalition is pleased to announce we are seeking proposals from qualified Community-Based Organizations experienced in outreach and engagement to diverse and underserved communities in one or more of the six counties that make up the Central Coast CERF region.
This funding aims to support community-based organizations to directly engage community members who would otherwise not be able to participate. Service agreements will empower trusted organizations, particularly those working within disinvested community populations, to engage meaningfully in the CERF planning process and support robust and inclusive community participation.
With your feedback and collaboration we have made two adjustments to the original RFP to accommodate a diversity of organizations able to apply for funding and contract with Uplift Coalition. Please see the amended RFP and Application. The due date for proposals remains the same, September 11, 2023.
Amendments include:
- Allowing applicants to apply for $15,000 OR $30,000 grants with total funding available remaining at $450,000.
- The total funding available for Community Engagement Services is $450,000. The Uplift Central Coast Coalition anticipates awarding up to 30 contracts of either $15,000 or $30,000 per contract equitably dispersed across the Central Coast Region to be used for core general operating support. An organization cannot apply for more than one grant within the same grant cycle and may propose which grant amount meets the level of reach they have into the community they serve, and the ability of the organization to deliver on varying levels of scope and milestones. Uplift Coalition will work with awardees to determine appropriate deliverables, and proposals will be reviewed based on proposed scope of work. The Uplift Governance Committees will review and make the final selection of awardees.
- Definition of who is eligible to apply:
- IRS 501(c)(3) or other nonprofit type determination letter will be required. Note: tax exempt organizations other than a 501(c)3 may also apply. Organizations may not use any funds received through this RFP to engage, promote, or in any way support any political or legislative activities (lobbying) or special interest advocacy.
